Volume too high?

marc
hi everyone, I have a pionneer vsx-510 receiver, when I want to listen to a dvd in DD or DTS I have to get the volume at around -35 db (it goes from -90db to 0) but when I listen to music it'll be around -70 db. Isn't putting it at around -35 a problem, won't I screw up my receiver and/or speakers? Or is it safe? is it normal or made to be like that?

thanks

Its probably a prolem with your dvd player, it may have a much lower output than your cd player. No it wont do any harm to your amplifier. Its like putting your reciever on max with nothing playing it wont do anything to it if its not loud.Hope That Helps
