I am at a loss as I realize that my beloved CDplayer (MARANTZ CD94) can not read CDs a few minutes after starting off. Sometimes, if it has been resting for a day or two it does start reading, then eventually stops.
Tried cleaning the lens, with no success, did not find any potentiometer at sight to tune the laser as on some models (sonys).
Any help / suggestions is welcome. I would really like to keep this player !
I am not expert, but I would guess that if your CD94 is still on its first laser, perhaps the laser block needs replacing.
You really should take the machine to a Marantz/Philips service specialist. The CD94 is a very well built machine, and is highly serviceable. So long as you take the machine to a reputable specialist, it should be possible to get it back into good health.
