I have a 300 watt jbl powered sub that use a 8 ohm 10" speaker. Well the speaker is blown, I replaced it with 4 ohm car sub (sounds like it works okay). Will this damage my Sony receiver because the ohms are diffenent? If so I have found a Dual voice coil speaker that can be used as a 2 or 8 ohm speaker would this be a good replacement? Or do I need to find a 8 ohm single voice coil speaker? FYI... The powered sub only has one set of wires for the speaker. Please help....

A driver with too low impedance will damage the sub's built-in amp. You can't put any driver in any cabinet. Most of the time it will sound bad. The JBL site has a Product Search option for you to find and order the exact replacement parts for your speakers:
