I'm considering buying the new Marantz PM7001 amp with CD5001 CD player and NHT Classic Two speakers.
The amp is rated at 70W/ch @ 8ohms & 100W/ch @ 4ohms. The speakers are a 6ohms impeadance.
Can anyone tell me what this amp's W/ch rating will be at 6ohms?

It does not matter. But I'm sure someone else can tell us.

Dennis, the fact that the Marantz is rated at 4ohms means it can handle tougher loads. Thats good. The 40% increase in rates power means it is average.
The impedence of the speakers at 6ohms is nominal. The actual value ranges from very high to possibly very low, depending on frequency.
Basically, a power supply rated at 4ohms should play low impedence speakers. Note that a heavier power supply (in kilos) may mean a better power supply.

Also note that impedence values are not the only measurements that make a speaker hard to drive.

Give it a try, and see what the dealer has to say.
