I have been looking to upgrade speakers for some time. I currently own a Rega Mira 3 integrated amplifier. Will my Mira push/be a good match for the Totem Model 1 signature speakers? I know they have a fairly low impedance. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Steve,

I very much doubt it. I haven't tried it but I'd be surprised if the Mira made much sense of the Model-1s, even the Signatures which are slightly easier to drive.

Regards,
Frank.

I am looking for a speaker that really emphasizes drums/cymbals and the Wharfedales aren't doing it for me. I'm happy with the Mira. Perhaps an R3 or R5?

Not a fan of the new Rega speakers. Although they boogie quite well they are very boxy. You could try Naim n-Sats. They emphasise pace and rhythm, but I'm not sure you'll be able to find them easily. Alternatively Dynaudio Audience 42, or possibly 52 but check with your own amp to ensure the match will work. The 42s will work.

Totem Rainmakers should be good, though I haven't tried the combination myself.

Regards,
Frank.
