Folks, the problem with reporting this on the First Saturday is it cuts into the rhythm of the music and the drinking. Reporting on the Subsequent Sunday, however, might prove equally difficult; depending, of course, on how the First Saturday progressed.

Johnny Cash at San Quentin. "San Quentin I hate every inch of you"

Some very old, and very rural Blues players from the 20's through 50's. "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl" by Sonny Boy Willamson (whichever number he claimed at the time) was among the selections.

Fell asleep to a new "Classic Country" AM (1190)station. Hag's the Man. (Currently in a format change to C.C., the station is playing straight music with no commercials.) Fade to George Jones ...

Has anyone seen my head this morning? I left it here somewhere last night. I'm almost positively certain of that fact.

Heck those car stereos are probably pulling in 300 bucks on ebay now, especially the ones with the 8 tracks. Oops, did I say 8 tracks?

Well, the time off work is booked, and we be headed to Memphis for the 5th 6th and 7th.
Got the tour of the Gibson factory and I buy my Sweetie a shiny guitar.
The Jack Daniels tour is good for Tuesday the 9th.
Scoot over to Nashville for a pint as well.

Beale St is calling, and we be there.

Right on Elvis Presley Blvd. in East Memphis.(bad part of town, BTW).
It will never be the same when we be done with the festival!

If only we could hang around for the world cookoffs 2 weeks later.
But my B-I-L is cooking there for the blue ribbon.

Nuck,
Is Beale St the one with all the bars? I was in Nashville a few years ago on business. It's a place where I never would have willingly gone based on pre-conceived notions. I pictured beat-up pick up trucks with gun racks and confederate flags driven by guys with mulletts. It wasn't like that at all. It was a great time and I'd like to go back someday.

Of all the bars, my favorite was B.B. King's Blues Cafe. Great food, beverages, and live music.

Stuie, you were in the middle of blues heaven.
Beale street is right there, mano.
Just like Bourbon Street was before in New Orleans, and will be again, you just can't keep the jazz down, cause it came from down.

And here it is, tomorrow night in fact.
Yes dregged from the archives of Audio humanity, returning for a curtain call, the Saturday night Swill-in!(hey you wanna name it)?

And contrary to my last post, absolving to remain away for 2 weeks to vent and relax, I neglected to consult the pagan timekeeper, and thus call a Mulligan.

Unfortunately, I am away this weekend, and have only my trusty laptop for music(pity me here), I find the sound somewhat...thin. Although somehow'airy' and light.Uh huh.

So I put forth the challenge, for those of you who may bend an elbow, and to those of you who sip tea as well to join forces, link stereos, find a nice piece of music, Brag of the things you love best and Stand tall(or sit) to voice your opinions of all things audio-worldly!

The Saturday night night express rolls on!
(Unless you miss it, of course, then there is another one).

No, sorry, I am a child of St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Even with the success of the Blues before I left the St. Louis area, it wasn't the same sitting on the front porch in a parka and gloves listening to the reports of slap shots over FM radio.

Actually pro sports have all but lost me over the last few years. Too many spoiled athletes ruin the broth.

However, I could run off the names of a hundred great young players who know how the life is supposed to be.

The sports crowd should gather around these kids and support them(money not considered), only because they play the game for the game alone.

A couple of MVP candidates in the rookie crowd.

Phaneuf in Calgary for one.

I only have 2 CD's out but sell them to people all over the world thanks to CDBaby.com, Amazon.com, and some nice folks that have reviewed and/or play my music on their sites. Hi Maci. Its cool that you dropped by to say hello. I am enjoying your CD " A Very Good Night," quite a bit as I said.

Feel free to drop by my bands website at tunapilot.com and click on the demos. We are all folks with day jobs that cover rock stuff. Our lead singer is female and it is great to have her in the band. If you are ever in Houston, drop by a gig and say hello!!!

The latest female artist's CD I have picked up is the Erin Boheme CD released just this month. Pretty good!
