Make your own decision. Listen to both and trust your ears.

I'd go with the Denon too.

It all depends on your budget (including speakers), your room size, and what performance you hope to get from your system. You can't really choose a receiver in a vacuum of information.

I have a panasonic big screen tv with a pioneer 1015tx receiver and 5 bose speakers. DVD works great with surround sound. TV only get sound from 2 or 3 front speakers and I cannot get on screen guide. Where does the tv plug into the receiver? I have lots of connections on the back of the tv. Which one do I use? DVD is currently plugged into DVD in on receiver. Cable is plugged into TV/Sat in. If I plug TV directly to receiver TV/Sat in I get no sound.

Have you consulted the manual?

Are the DVD's audio output connected directly to the TV?

You really should start a new thread instead of hijacking this one. Probably why you don't get a lot of responses.
