Looking for some recomendations. The speakers need to be wall mounted. I have some experience with paradigm, infinity and polk.

Also interested in reciever and dvd recomendations. Marantz, Denon and HK seem likely here.

How much music/movies?
Room size?
Do you ever do 2 channel music?

etc.

Orb Audio is right in that price range and will give you a lot of value since you aren't paying layers of markups. Might as well spend the whole $2k on spekaers and not middlemen. There are a few other direct companies as well...I like that business model a lot.

I would like good surround as well as the ability to listen to music. The ratio would be 70 % TV/movie and 30% music.

The room is about 22 x 12.

I live in an apartment so the volume cannot be too loud. Clarity would be much more important.

NHT is a very good choice pricewise. Very detailed in music, and hard to beat in movies. Powered with seperate amplification is best as NHT are somewhat power hungry, but in an apt. you wouldnt need much. Rotel would be good match. But IMO denon would hold you over until you move to bigger space.
