Replacing Receiver

Hi, My Pioneer Elite receiver recently stopped working and Pioneer has stopped making the part. I have B&W DM602 front speakers, with DM 601 back, matching center and a powered paradigm sub. I mostly watch TV, music with a movie thrown in now and then. My living room is medium with high cealings (Tahoe cabin). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much -

Why not replace the Pioneer with another Pioneer Elite model?

Pioneer offered today to let me buy another receiver from them at cost? Is that a good deal? I am a little soured on paying $2000 for a receiver 4 years ago - and not being able to have it repaired. Thanks

I don't blame you. But if they are offering you another receiver at cost, I'd say jump on it!

But if you are ready for another receiver besides Pioneeer, I would suggest looking at a company called Outlaw Audio.

Check out the Model 1070 which would provide you with ample power, great sound and value for around $900.

If you want to go with separate components I would highly recommend the Model 990 pre amp/processor in combination with the Model 7125 Power amp. The combo will run about $1800. I have dealt with this independent company and they offer superb service. If you have trouble with the set-up you can call them and they will walk you through every step and will not end until you are satisfied with your set-up.
