Tonearm springs back before record is done

When I try to play one side of a new 7" record I bought, the tonearm lifts up and snaps back into position when it gets about 3/4 of the way through, but it never stops at exactly the same spot. Can I fix this by adjusting the controls on the tonearm? This turntable also has a problem with the arm sometimes lifting up and hovering in place in the middle of playing a record.

What turntable? What controls?

It is a Dual brand CS 616Q Direct Drive Semi-Automatic (Made in Germay). I have never adjusted the controls on the tonearm but I am assuming they are for the counter-weight, anti-skate and height (I am not an expert as you can tell).

None of those items are likely to be the cause of a tonearm which "springs back" and adjusting them will only make matters worse if you don't know what you are adjusting for.

Look through this web site and, if you do not find an answer there, the best suggestion is to let a professional service technician look at the table.
