Yamaha HTR-5830 keeps shutting down.

Anonymous	Posted on Monday, November 21, 2005 - 04:07 GMT My Yamaha HTR-5830 keeps shutting down. I've checked the speaker connections and they're OK. I'm assuming it's overheating. I had an x-Box unit sitting atop of it that I have since moved. How long does the unit take to cool off and can be started again. It's been 3 hours, it feels cool to the touch but does not turn on. Any thoughts?
budget minded Silver Member Username: Cheapskate Post Number: 533 Registered: Mar-04	Posted on Sunday, November 27, 2005 - 17:17 GMT yes... you shouldn't obstruct either the top or bottom of any reciever or amp. the vents are there for circulation and cooling. you probably triggered a thermal shutdown circuit. cranking the volume up for long periods of time could do the same thing too. if it still doesn't turn on, you might have blown a fuse.
