I'm in the process of upgrading my home theater system. My system is listed below. Right now I'm still using my VERY old Tech SA-GX550 to drive my system. This receiver is old, outdated and inadequate so I'm in the market for a new one. I really like the ROTEL 1065 but can't swing the bucks. Right now I'm leaning towards the Denon AVR-3805. My question is....is the 3805 a good choice. My budget is about $900 but I want to get the best I can for it.

I wouldn't hesitate in buying the 3805, but there are NAD alternatives as well as I'm sure you will be told on this board. The Rotel is also excellent, but you may also wish to consider the Rotel 1055 or 1056. The 1055 is available on sale with the intro of the 1056.

In any case, if you can buy a Denon 3805 for about $900 from an authorized Denon dealer, including factory warranty, let me know - I would consider buying one myself!
