The choices are:
A. Rotel 1070 pre-amp and 1080 amp
or
B. Adcom 715 pre-amp and GFA 5500 amp

The speakers are B & W 703s. Please advise and thank you for your feedback.

Certainly not the Adcom. They make nice power amps but their pre amps are the worst. What's your budget and what music do you listen to?

I listen to a bit of everything, mostly classic rock followed by classical music.

Budget is around $1500.

Perhaps a Musical Fidelity integrated. The new A3.5 sounds great for all types of music and mates well with B&W speakers.

I wouln't necessarily say that Adcom makes bad pre amps....they are no worse than one by Rotel.

Musical Fidelity stuff is OK, but I would not chose over Adcom or Rotel separates.

If I were to chose, I would see what I could listen to and go from there. I think with separates, you have the flexibility to change things/upgrade in the future. You may also look at B&K.

Anthem would be another combo that I would look at.
