How to connect subwoofer in pre-wired house?

My house is pre-wired with speaker wire for front speakers, surround speakers, and a subwoofer. But I have a dilemma with how to connect the subwoofer. My receiver (Onkyo TX-SR700) has a LFE output for the subwoofer but no speaker terminals for a subwoofer. I tried using the Zone 2 connections but the controls are independent of the main speakers and it doesn't support digital sources so that won't work. What should I do? Can I crimp on an RCA connector onto the speaker wire at both ends and use the LFE output? Will that introduce noise into the signal?

You can crimp an RCA connector and check the results, it will work but I don't know that it may introduce unwanted noise. Are they parallel and close to any power lines?

Thanks for the input. I believe the speaker wires are twisted pair and I don't think they're close to power lines.

The only way to know now is to go ahead an hook them up.
