ok, i have a pair of old AKAI speakers, i can't find any stats on them. Im trying to figure out what materials they used for the woofer on this speaker.. Upload

if i had to guess, i would say that the surround was almost a vinyl type of material, it's rough yet thin.. i know it couldn't be foam.. or maybe it could, maybe im thinking the wrong type of foam? lol i have no clue, maybe you guys can tell me what kind of cone and surround i have here.. would be appreciated!!

By 'rough', do you mean that it almost sticks to your finger when you touch it?
Having 'blown up' the pic, it looks like it may be a neoprene roll surround. Neoprene has probably been the favourite roll surround material for speaker drive unit manufacturers for 30 years.
Can you post the info on the plate on the speaker, that might help.

Why do you want to know?
