Hey guys, I was wondering how do some of the Yamaha Receivers work when playing Karaoke? I heard someone who has a Yamaha receiver say that when he plays Karaoke the sound quality isn't that great.. is this something that is know about Yamaha receivers and Karaoke, or is it just that one guy's personal experience. I have heard many great things about Yamaha receivers for home theater and just wanted to make sure they work well with Karaoke before I buy one. Thanks
Maybe it's the singer? Seriously if your going to use a receiver for any type of microphone use, you need plenty of head room. When you turn that baby up and start belting out a song, the spikes are horrendous. I would suggest a power amp with a made for karaoke mixer with key change, echo and other effects. Even a small mono or stereo amp from Radio Shack would do a better job than a home receiver.
