my tonearm acts like there is a spring in it? it has so much tension that the needle wont even stay on the record, it just slings back to its resting position. im new to technics but correct me if im wrong,technics do not have an auto-return tonearm so why is there tension? i have tried to make adjustments to weights on the back of the tonearm to no avail, helps a little but i know its not correct, any advice?
thanks for the help everyone, i took it to an supposed authorized technics dealer and he charged me $40 to "clean the dry/old grease from the tonearm," does this sound legitiment?
