Hello everyone, I need to make a decision on this pretty quick. I can pick up a new Rotel 1068 or a Lexicon MC1 for the same price. The ROtel 1068 is new and the Lexicon is used (I think it was made in 1999 or 2000). Which one would you choose and why?
I would take the Lexicon any day over the Rotel...
don't get me wrong, I LOVE Rotels, but Lexicon is in another league entirely. Neither of the preamps have balanced XLR outs, which is about the only downside to either of them.
The Lexicon will give you much more neutral sound than the Rotel. If you are used to Rotel sound, then stick with it, nothing else will satisfy you. But IMHO the MC1 is a better preamp.
