Ok so here's the deal. I havent even bought my receiver yet(I have a cheap surroudn sound system), but Im looking to the future here.

I play a lot of video games over xbox live. I play competitively. The game I play is Ghost Recon 2. In the old recon games you could turn off the enviromental sounds, so that all you heard was footsteps and gunfire. You cant do that on this game.

I was wondering if I got an equalizer, could I use it to help bring that effect back. Like if I stood in one spot and had somebody run around me, if its a mid to low sound, could I turn that sound up and the others down to be able to hear footsteps better. Do the same thing with gunshots?

If this is possible just let me know, I would appreciate it.
