Hooking up old Sony TV to Pioneer Receiver for surround sound

I have an old Sony TV KV-2781R that I wish to use surround sound speakers connected to Pioneer VSX-D509S Rec. The cable TV is connected to a Hitachi FX600 Video Deck with Input & Output Video/Audio jacks with the Sony TV connected to the Hitachi with only Input Video/Audio jacks. The TV works fine with only the sound coming from the TV. I also have a DVD player that works fine with the surround sound speakers. How do I get the TV sound to come thru the surround sound speakers? What is the cable hookup when going thru the Video Deck?

To make play your TV source through your receiver, you'll need to connect the audio source to your receiver.

It can be done in one of two ways.......
1.connect audio/out from TV to receiver input.
2.connect audio/out from cablebox to receiver input.

If you have neither of those outputs, your out of luck and will need to update either your TV or cablebox for surround sound.
