am looking to purchase floor standing aperion towers (with inbuilt subs). The receiver I am looking at is a denon 2805. At the moment I am only looking for a system to listen to music with. I want the home theatre receiver option in case I expand to 5 or more speakers in the future. Does this make any sense? Is there a disadvantage using the denon 2805 as a stereo receiver only?
No dissadvantage in using the denon, makes sense if you plan on making it into a full surround sound system some time soon. If you are looking for speakers with built in subs, check out the paradigm monitor 90P, they are great speakers and sound very good with the denon 2805.
