I can't get anyone local to repair my 4100 because they claim no parts are available. Can anyone verify? I really hate to dump this ol beauty! I haven't seen any threads on this. Thanks in advance for any help.

Don't new recievers have better specs and performance than my old McIntosh???

Specs are one thing. Performance quite another.

Steve,

I don't think you will find a new one that will "present the music", the way a McIntosh will.

Go to www.audioclassics.com or give them a call.

Good luck!

Look at getting the Mac repaired, you'll be glad you did. Take Rick's advice, call Audioclassics, they are a top notch Mac authorized service provider. I live nearby and know they employ ex McIntosh engineers and have a world-wide, stellar reputation. Good luck.

On the other hand, if you're thinking of throwing it out, let me know :-)
