Stupid receiver question.

Hi,

I was looking to get the JVC RX-DV3SL dvd/receiver combo. Will i be able to set up this 5 channel receiver with only 2 stereo speakers? I've been told the other 3 channels would overheat or something and you can;t shut them off.

yes you can, you can turn off the other speakers by using the set up menu.
