Receiver switching question.

I know that in order to use S-Video to switch, all components need to be S-Video. For instance, you need a S-Video VCR or the rest of your components must use composite in order to use the switching.

My question is, how does Component Video come into play?

Can I have 2 devices connected in the component video in, and 1 connected into a S-Video in and be able to switch them?

Or only certain models have that feature, and its something I need to look for.

Side note.. I c that some receivers have 80mhz or 100mhz component video in. What is the difference?

Its time to upgrade my 5.1 system and I want to make a wise choice in doing so.

Thanks in advance.
