M...BUT, I know I don't have the proper amplification or source for them and I probably will not be able to afford it for years.Get rid of the Dunlavys?
I currently have a pair of Dunlavy SM-1s in my system (Denon AVR 3803, Panasonic DVD). I came across these at a great price (FREE) and I don't really want to get rid of them but I do not have the proper amplification or source for them and I won't be able to afford it for YEARS! I am thinking I may get better performance by selling the Dunlavys and getting a set of new PSBs (or something similar). The SM-1s certainly outclass the rest of my gear. I have considered adding a power amp, but to get one to do the SM-1s justice would cost me a fortune. Does anyone have any recommendations or thoughts? Am I crazy? I keep telling myself this isn't the upgrade bug...how can it be if I'm considering selling the Dunlavys?
