This is my first home theater receiver and am not sure what to buy. I just bought a 43" DLP HDTV and need a good receiver with surround sound speakers. I will use the receiver 75% for video and 25% for music.
My budget is around $300-$350 and was considering Yamaha HTR-5650, Onkyo TXSR601 or Denon AVR-1803. Which would you buy?
Then which speaker package (6.1) would you buy. I desire small fronts and rear speakers. My budget is about $500. Was considering JBL.

dude i would try the onkyo 6.1 home theater package for $499. to me the sound of the onkyo is out of this world!!. It comes with a 6.1 receiver, 6 speakers and a powered 8" down-firing sub.!! also another worthy system is the one from yamaha for $499. now if you want to use the jbl's then i would suggest that you try both receivers and see which one is best for you!!
