I purchased this new about 5 or 6 years ago for around $450. H/K was moving a lot of these just as DTS was starting to appear on DVD's. I think the replacement model, which had a DTS decoder, was the AVR65. It might have been a refurb, but I don't know. It looked new in the packaging. Anyway, it has been working great until recently. Occasionlly, it has started to turn off by itself for a couple of seconds, and then turn back on (Green to Red light on the power switch). It also has developed some static in the front left main speaker. I did some switching, left to right, and hooked up an external power amp to the pre-amp out to isolate the problem. The static is in coming from the pre-amp section. My question is: Is it worth fixing? I've read about some others having problems with H/K units, but not the AVR75.

Depends on the cost - you can get an estimate and if it costs a lot, consider getting this $300 panasonic one - will sound better.
