I'm have problem trying to connect my Laptop Toshiba Satellite C650 which only have VGA port to my LED Samsung smart TV - heres a link to its spec:http://www.currys.ie/Product/SAMSUNG-UE32ES5500-Full-HD-32andquot-LED-TV/31 2972/339.0 - which only has composite and HDMI. I tried to connect them together using a VGA to RCA cable however I only get " Mode not supported: change resolution on external device" appearing on the screen. Changed the modes resolution display but no success.
I think you would be better served trying to find a VGA to HDMI adapter solution to your problem. That would also help with the resolution problem.
With your current setup, you might want to try to lower the resolution on your laptop and see if it works out. That would go down to around 800x600 or 1024x768 range which should be more manageable via RCA/composite.
