I have a rather basic question I was hoping you might help me with if you have a moment. I have just picked up an old Logitech Trackman PS2 trackball on ebay for a relatively decent price. I **loved** my old Trackman but the forums everywhere say that Win 7 is a no-go with this thing.

My quandary is this: The trackball is simply that. 4 buttons (left click right click and two random inputs). It seems that any trackball of the same basic design should wire up exactly the same. I have recently bought a Logitech trackball and the materials used are so cheap it makes me want to vomit that I invested $30 in this p.o.s.

I am thinking of cutting the cords on one and matching cables to another. It seems a simple rewiring. Input is input after all.

Does this make sense? Have you ever heard of someone doing this? Any advice would be greatly appreciates. Images:

Thanks in advance.
