My computer is a Compaq EVO/ 2.4ghz Pentium 4. I have a total of 4 usb ports on the back of my motherboard, 2 of which are Hi-speed. My computer Identifies the non hi-speed ports, but will not recognize the Hi-speed ports. I read something about on startup or in the BIOS control you can enable the Hi-speed ports, but I can't seem to find it. Can anyone help please???

should be under advanced chipset options, under integrated peripherals or some such.
find the USB ports, and make sure they are set to 1.1 and 2.0 mode. not just 1.1

My BIOS didn't say anything about USB anywhere. I decided to try loading the default setup. That did the trick. I looked for this solution for a long time. I hope this helps someone.
