I'm about to build a new computer and will be trashing my motherboard (it's been about 4 years). I can't believe the speed on some of the new motherboards. I'm going to overclock the proccessor on the old one to test out the problem of heat and reliability. Has anyone overclock the processor? If so, how long did the processor worked? How fast did you overclock it? I'm already bought a bigger fan for the heat it would be producing.
back in the day i overclocked an Athlon 800Mhz to 1.2Ghz, and it would run without much confict except for an occasional overheating, in which case, i could just reboot it, and drop the speed a bit, and it'd work fine, then boost it back up, when not doing something intensive.
