What exactly is the difference, in layman's terms, between the MRP-350 and the MRD-300? I've looked at the specs between the two, and don't understand the huge price difference ($130 @ Crutchfield).

Also, I visited a local car audio shop and they recommended pairing the MRP-350 with a Diamond 12" (I think the CM3 12", but maybe it was the M6 12" or even the TDX 12") with an enclosure and installation for $550. Is that a good 'deal'?

the M300 is a V12 series amplifier which is Alpine's higher end stuff.
It has a lot of features built in like parametric EQ and crossover, as well as linking of amplifiers.

The M350 puts out slightly more power (hardly enough difference to notice.) but it's a V-Power model which is a lower end amp for Alpine.
less features, and more basic looks.
