i have a sub thats dual 2 ohm, can handle 1500w rms so im looking for something that will put out a decent amount of power either at 4 ohms or 1 ohms... the 1200.1 puts out 600wrms at 4 ohm and 1200w rms at 1 ohm the hifonics amp puts out 350w rms at 4 ohm and 1000w rms at 1` ohm....im pretty sure that the hifonics amp will definately be enough with a lightning audio 2 farad cap

any input on this glasswolf or Derek I. theyre both around the same amount as far as price goes but is there much of a difference in SQ? thanks guys

a capacitor won't help you.
both of those amplifiers will draw over 100A of current at your suggested load.
that's probably more than your alternator even produces.
time to look at a high output alternator, and go with at least 4AWG cable for alternator, battery, and amplifier(s).

as for which amp is better.. both are fine.
that's up to you.
