So I have a 1997 HONDA accord and I have a touch screen head unit which is Pioneer-very similar to this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll… I also have 6x9 rear speakers which are pioneers as well. Also 2 12'' MTX subs... and I was wondering what front speakers i should buy?

I have 2 types of speakers in mind, but I am not sure if any of these are or if I need any other connections to the subs or not?

Here are 2 options for a middle end system like yours:

For component speakers:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_12224_Pioneer-TS-D1720C.html

For coxials:
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_9111_Polk-Audio-db651.html

Your links are incomplete so I couldn't see but most walmart stuff is junk.. sorry.

Not clear what you mean with this: "I am not sure if any of these are or if I need any other connections to the subs or not? "

Ok, if you are going to use any of the speakers suggested above just bear in mind that head units can put out only about 14-16W of fair quality power per channel, if you are using say 80-120W per channel speakers then YES you use an amplifier to provide that power level and aditionally amplifiers provide a high quality signal that cannot be compared to that of head units.

Anyways the head unit could power the speakers for a while until you get the amplifier.

you'll have much better sound using an amp for front/rear speakers as well.. but if money is tight, just use the radio to power those speakers for now.
