this is my amp http://www.woofersetc.com/product.asp?0=279&1=280&3=320 is there a way where i can control my amp by turning down the gain where i can only have 300 watts into each sub? ps im a noob

It essentially depends on how you have your subs wired, that is I mean in series or in parallel, and whether they're DVC or SVC.

Yes you can turn down the gains to reduce the ammount of watts that are going to both of your subs, but you cannot adjust them individually because its a 2 ch amplifier, which will only have one set of gain controls.

Please post your sub models, and whether they're DVC or SVC, and how you have it wired for more information on this topic.

the gain doesnt control how many watts that go to your speakers

yup. gain or input sensitivity has no effect on power output. it simply balances input voltage to input stage on the amp.
also, some stereo amps do in fact have separate gain settings for each channel.
my Orions do.
