It was in safe mode, I took the unit out overnight and now have "10 SAFE" displayed, just need a code. Reg ROoster, thanks for the feedback. I managed to obtain my code, I took out the stereo and had another look-see, there was a piece of paper with the number written on it, must have been from an old service.
One question though, how do I enter the code? I need 6 and 9 etc but if I press say "1" six times, it enters 6 ones (well, stops after 4 naturally) and I have presets 1-6, so I can't enter "9".
I've heard you can hold play/pause for 2 seconds until 0000 is displayed, though I can't see anything.

The radio has to be removed from the dashboard
Then post the 14 character SERIAL NUMBER beginning with RN* * * * * * * * * * * * found stamped in the metal casing.
Also post the SECURITY NUMBER. This is found on a label on the metal casing in the format TOA123 or TA123 or just A123 at the end of a barcode =================================================

Hi I need a code for a Holden Astra in Australia. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is W0L0TGF694G058820. I believe this is what car dealers use to generate the codes but if you need other numbers please let me know. Thanks! Mat

Thanks... I kept googling after I posted here and actually found the six-digit unlock code a Toyota dealer posted on a repair forum. It worked - CD player has problems but then again the Celica was in a pretty serious wreck. All my CDs are on my ipod anyway.
