I know this is a rookie ? but here it goes if i have 4 6 1/2" speakers

@ 4 ohms each. And i have a 4 channel amp that puts out 50w x 4

@ 4 ohms. 75w X 4 @ 2 ohms Do i take each speaker and wire it to two ohms then hook two of each together and only end up with two wires going to the amp???????

i may be misunderstanding you but here it is.
Application and speaker useage: just normal car audio.

Copms or coaxial: not sure what that is but the amp im getting is MRP-F300 its alpine.

Front or Rear: i have two in the front doors and two in the rear deck.
I guess my ? is how do i get 2 ohms 75w x 4 with that amp if all the speakers i have are 4 ohm.
hope this helps thanks

ok i meant for application what were your goals and the rest of your system.

comps or coaxial speakers? (is the tweeter separate)

ok you wouldnt want to do this... you would want to run fronts r/l and bridge the amp for the rears run them in series and try to band pass them...

Don't mean to be rude but if you need to ask such a simply question as this, I feel it's in your best interest to find or pay someone to do this for you

It will be loader @ 4ohms as each speaker will have 50w each if you connect the speakers in parrel to give 2ohms you 75w x4 giving you 37w per speaker and leaving 2 ch spare. Most amps won't run 2 ohm when bridged check your specs I think their,
50w x4@4ohm
75w x4@2ohm
100w x2@4ohm
If you want it to be loader then that you have 2 options
1. Get 4 off 2 ohm speakers.
2. Get a bigger amp and run current speakers at 4ohm.

well, if the amp has 4 output channels with 4 ohm loads... then why not wire each speaker to each channel... That's how the amp is designed to run.

and John is right---> Each channel will give each speaker 50w each. Also, having more than one speaker on a channel lowers the sensitivity of the the circuit (bad). By putting one speaker on one channel each will get the best performance from both your amp and your speakers.
