I have access to an oscilloscope and I am interested in setting my amplifier gains using one. I can check on the specific model that we have, if that makes a difference. Has anyone here ever done this before?

I believe you set the setting on the o-scope to ac, then hook up the positive and negative lead, to the corresponding speaker terminals on the amp, with your headunit to 3/4 volume you slowly turn up the gain and pay attention to the screen, as you will see changes as you go and when you see the waves go flat top, that its, the amp is clipping at that point, and if that is not enough bass just back the gain down to a point where the signal isnt clipped and turn the bass boost up until you see the waves go flat again, that's about it.
