What size fuze do i need?

I am ruuning a 1000 watt using 6 gage wire 15 ft from battery to amp
i am running 2 "10" sub 650 watt max per speaker i have a inline fuse next to the battery what size amp fuse should i use 40,60, etc i am running 2 "10" sub 650 watt max per speaker

the in-line fuse between the battery and the distribution block/amplifier(s) should be rated for the maximum current capacity of the wire itself, based on it's gauge.

for 6AWG, the maximum chassis wiring current capacity is 101 Amperes, so use a 100A fuse.

If i was running a 40A fuse could it cause it to shut off when i raise the volume ans cause it to flicker on/off

your amp is wired at too low of an impedance.
it's going into thermal protection.
