Battery died and so did radio in my land rover discovery. Wrong code was entered now cannot get rid of that code, not even by disconnecting the radio? Any advice on how to clear it to set code? Also need the code for the radio which I was not given when I bought the discovery - Number printer on underside of radio is: CR0171S0028933. Other numbers on sticker on radio are 286-7639-07 Product No: PU-9845A

the only CLARION code available for free (using a serial number ) from anywhere on the Internet is if your radio also has a BARCODE SERIAL NUMBER beginning with C 7000000 + + + + on a label somewhere on the metal casing.
If not then it will only be available from your Main Dealer or a Decoding Service or your local Car Radio / Audio Store who will connect a laptop to read/recode the memory chip (EEPROM) inside your radio Please note that code entry is only possible when "CODE IN" is shown in the display. If the display continually shows "SECURITY" then the unit may be codelocked and will need to be left switched on up for up to two hours or more to reset before another code entry attempt is possible

My friend has not been able to find the code card, but does have the serial no. card, in German no less. Is it possible to get the code from that and save us both from the dealership?
