Amp Problems...

Hey everyone, I have a US Amps 800.2 running an Incriminatory Audio Death Penalty D4. I am running the amp bridged at 2 ohms, and everything is set right. Everything is fine until I turn it up past a certain point; at a certain volume the fuse blows. I've replaced multiple fuses and the same thing happens every time. I was wondering if you guys had any ideas as to whats wrong?
Thanks

Please list the fuse power and the speaker impedance!

The speaker impedance was mentioned earlier, its a d4 wired to 2 ohms.

I bought the amp from a guy on craigslist who had it installed from a car audio place, and he bought the amp brand new. It came with a 25A fuse, so I assumed that was correct. I hadn't thought it could be wrong, because the amp hadn't had problems with my previous subs.

Sorry for the confusion.

EDIT: I lied, the amp is NOT a US amps 800.2, its an RE audio 800.2.

Also, it is bridged at 4 ohms, while my sub is wired at 2 ohms...

25 amps fuse is tight for this amplifier under 2 ohms, the spec give 500watts under 4 ohms bridged but you use speaker under 2 ohms, 35 or 40 amps will be better for it but check if the amplifier is over heat!

25 amp is the correct fuse for that amp. DO NOT put in a bigger one.

This won't be what you want to hear, but if the speakers are wired right, the next most common cause of blowing the on-board fuses is bad amplifier... a problem with the power.ground wires will usually blow the in-line fuse instead.

Well, The internet says bridged output the amp is at 4 ohms. I have a D4 sub...
what should I do? I can run it off 1 channel at 2 ohms, but that will only be 200 watts...

Damn, if would've read that in your origional post i could've told you right away thats the problem... bottom line is there's no way to get full power to that sub from that amp. You can wire to 8 ohm bridged or one channel at 2 ohm as you said. Thats about it, or get a different sub or amp.

Your amp can run with a higher fuse but you will need to add a fan to be sure that it will not overheat!
