Hey so I just bought Dual bp1204 (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_070BP1204/Dual-BP1204.html) subs from my friend for like 95$, they arent that great from what ive been reading but im looking at what amp I should buy to get the best bang for my buck. Trying not to spend anything over 150-200 and looking for something that provides about 600 RMS

Should I get a two channel or mono amp? The subs are 4 OHM's 600 RMS, do mono amps work a lot better when there is only 2 or 1 OHM?

I was looking at this amp - Alpine MRP-M500 http://www.amazon.com/Alpine-M500-MRP-M500-Amplifier-1-channel/dp/B0013TQ6FK

Is there anything else more powerful that i can get for 150-200$?

Thanks for the help.

The Alpine amp would be a good choice. But I gotta ask: can you trade the duals back for the $95? Those subs are really poor performance-wise, and aren't built very well either. In the long run I don't think you'll want to keep them. You could get a few different subs from ebay that would hit harder and be cheaper (like the Alpine Type R, Kicker, Infinity, even the cheaper/older JL subs will be MUCH better).

I agree, if you're aware that dual = crap why'd you buy them...

But to answer your question yes, that alpine amp is a good choice

well the duals were only 100 with the box and everything so i figured it was a good deal for now. I can always upgrade in the long run.

I ended up going with the Pioneer GM-D8500M (http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130GMD850M/Pioneer-GM-D8500M.html)

It came to only 150$ with 10% bing cashback online

Not a bad choice, either.
