Hey guys.
Ive got an MB Quart Premium PWH 304 with the Duel Voice Coils. I believe its 1000w and is 4-Ohm. What kind of amp should I get to power this bad boy? I'm fairly new to car audio, so any explanations would also be helpful. Its going to be a work in progress. I'm looking to make a decent system, but I don't want to spend a ton of money.

I also plan on buying a new head unit, amp kit, and the box for the sub (which I might just make myself). So any suggestions and tips would be great! I drive a 2005 Jeep Liberty if that helps.

Thanks guys.

Car audio isn't a cheap hobby.
What is your budget?

Plan to spend about $300-$350 for an amplifier to drive the sub.
Figure $200-300 for a head unit
$150-350 for decent front speakers
$150-250 for an amp to drive the front speakers
$50-100 for parts required to build a decent sub box
$50-70 for an amp wiring kit

I was planning on keeping my stock speakers. I was just going to buy:
1) Amp to power the sub
2) Build or buy a sub box
3) Amp wiring kit
4) Head unit (possibly)

I'm trying to keep the costs to under $500, or around there. I know amps can get expensive. Any recommendations to power my sub?

That sub is 500RMS 1000 peak, and dual 4 ohm.
You could go with an Alpine mrp-500 for 169 ish depending on where ya get it from, I think they are 199 at crutchfield, but there is cheaper places out there. Sonicelectronix has them for 179 shipped.
Wire the sub down to a 2ohm load.

I believe that amp has speaker level inputs as well if you decide not to upgrade the HU and you go with the factory one.
That will leave ya a few hundred to get it wired up and get a box.
