I am getting 4- 10" subwoofers not sure what brand yet but want to know what size amp would I need to push them, Would I just need 1 or 2 amps. They are most likely going to be 800 watts each and 4 ohms. Thanks Mike
Its hard to say but once you get the amps you can work the subs around the specs. You say there 800 watts each but i think you mean 400W RMS. Since you want 4 i would suggest 2 800 W RMS AMPs. That will just about push any sub at or under 400 W RMS. Make sure you got Optima battery and a new alternator or else your gonna be SOL.
The RMS isn't necessarily half of the listed peak. But assume they are 800W RMS, I'd do two JBL 1200.1's as the cheapest quality amps to run. You'll need a 200+ amp alternator if you run that. Is it 800 peak or RMS, Michael?
