i dont plan on spending over $100 for an amp to power my kenwood kfc-w3012. im interested in the hitron or the boss. theres a sale on sonicelectronix with free ship. that is also a big factor in why am i deciding between these two amps.

hitron:http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_14962_Hitron+HA-1000.1+-Gray-.html

or the boss:

they can both power my kenwood adequately. the hitron is rated at 400 rms which is perfect and the boss is at 500 rms. they are both around the same price. can anyone tell me which one is better for the price? the ratings for the hitron on the sonicelectronix site is not bad. i have heard some bad things about boss, but not so much about hitron. any info would help.

thanks

Those are both very low end budget amps. they are probley over rated as well.. But both are flea market brands, and only the shadiest of flea markets would even try to sell them.

This is probley the best they have under 100,
But still an entry level budget amp.

Good luck.

Between the two - I'd say the Hitron.
The problem is the cheap amps lie so obviously about their power capabilities you have to look at the fuse size to guesstimate what they'll actually do.
The Boss has a single 25A (should do around 250w), the Hitron has 2x20A (should do around 400w).
The next thing you have to consider is those power estimations will come at minimum impedance, which is 2 ohms for both amps. Since you have one 4 ohm subwoofer your only option is to run the amps at 4 ohms. So you'd be looking at 150-200w from the Boss and Probably 250-300 from the Hitron.

That being said -- OD, great suggestion. Not only adequate power, but a good quality amp. Dennis, if $100 is doable that SS is a no brainer.
