hey guys, I have a hifonics bxi2008 brutus amp. its says its 2000 rms at 1 ohm but its really around 1700 rms. would it be too much to put it on two 10" alpine type r's in a ported box? or would they be ok as long as i keep the bass down? thanks in advance.

just keep it down and if you hear a loud clacking or the bass becomes distorted turn it down, thats what i do! i have no idea how much im puting into my subs i just turn them up till they bottom out(clacking sound) then turn it down to just before the clacking happens

You should both invest in a volt meter. If you spend hundreds of dollars on your sound system, doesn't it make sense to spend $20 on a volt meter so you don't destory your speakers?

If you are asking this question, then no.

Invest in a volt meter,as chris said above.

Set at 1000RMS.

Build box to type R 10" spec.

NO BASS BOOST

hifonics amps are known to do only ~75% of claimed power so you're looking at more like 1500w
