what is the max you should run your gain at, so that it doesnt overheat or anything like that? i have a kicker zx750.1. and i have a remote bass gain knob, can i turn the amp up more, and just keep the bass knob at less, and just turn it up when i really want to bump?

There is no spot where your gain is supposed to be set that will work with every system. It is based off the signal strength that your head unit sends to the amplifier.

Also make sure to have your EQ set to flat, all BBE and Bass boost off. If you want to use that bass knob, attatch it to the amp before setting the gain, set it to max and the gain to minimum and then set the gain. This way you will not increase the gain and cause the amplifier to clip.
