i need a new amp for my alpine type R bridged to 1 ohm. i was looking at a hifonics bki1206 mono 2400w class d amp 1200w rms but was wondering if the sub could handle that much power.

any input would be nice.

What kind of budget are you workin with? I want to make sure, you have 2 dual 4's right. Feel free to email me if you would like.

well ive heard that the hifonics 1200 really only puts out about 900. and i think the type r may be able to handle a lil more than 500, but not much. so that would definately be enough power

Budget?

Off top of my head...
Orion/Directed/DEI D1200 if you are just using 1 sub (Dual 2 ohm coils).
AQ1200D or RD1000.1 if you have 2 subs (Dual 4 ohm coils).

if you have one this would be a nice amplifier for it

if you have two you could look for its big brother the x1200.1, full power from 1-4 ohms
