New member Username: Nintze27Pittsburgh , Pa Usa Post Number: 1 Registered: Feb-08 | I hear that the kicker l7 12 is not a very durable subwoofer,,,but i do have the kicker 1500.1 to match 2 kicker l7 12's in a Ported kicker spec'd box. What should i have the the amps 3 knobs set 2 on average to not damage these subs? example x over, Gain , And ofcourse bass boost. |

Silver Member Username: Vivi2000Owosso, Mi Post Number: 116 Registered: Aug-07 | Never use bass boost, ever. It only causes distortion and causes clipping, damaging your amp and subs. I would set the Low Pass Filter to around 80-100hz, but ive never used kicker subs myself so im not sure. http://mobile.jlaudio.com/pdfs/gainSetting.pdf read over that and it should help you set your gain right, now ofcourse they only have their amps on there so you need to figure out your voltage. I believe the way to do that is Sqrt(I*W) where I is the ohm independance you are running your amp at and W is the total wrms of the amp at that ohm. |
