I posted a thread earlier and you guys said that a 5 channel amp would work the best. What amp or brand do you reccomend. Just trying to choose the best one. The sub 250 watts nominial power and 1000 watts max. The other 4 speakers are 160 watts peak power in the back and 80 watts peak in the front.

i myself have never dealt with a 5-channel amp myself but we will need to know the RMS wattage of your speakers because peak power is usually a made up number that companies will throw out there to make it sound like the speakers can take more power than they are actually rated at.

I really don't care if i don't have fade. I just want something that would work great and that i could add things to in the future. Mainly 6x9's in the back.

if i were you i would pass on an amp for the speakers because they shouldn't need it. what type of car do you have?

here are a couple amps that put out around 250w RMS @ 4ohms that you may consider. they are also 2 ohm stable so if you ever decide to upgrade your subwoofer to an Alpine Type R for example then it would give you enough power at 2 ohms to do so

until you upgrade the speakers don't waste buying an amp for the ones you currently have

Why not run an amp for the highs too they will sound better. A 5 channel will give you control on the power to the fronts and the rears because there are individual gains and a three channel will only have one gain with no control to balance the power output. Stick with the 5 channel we recommended. That kicker kx 700.5 will put out 40 x 4 at 4 ohms and 210 x 1 at 4 ohms which is twice the power so youll have clean power for your highs. Your headunits true power is no more than about 20 watts rms (true power) per channel.

Yeah, with aftermarket speakers an amp makes a big difference compared to the HUs weak internal one.

ill look but in case you change your mind heres a kicker 700.5 at $181.94 shipped but it has a lot of time left.

ok I looked and unless you want to double the price for this alpine pdx-5 $389.80 shipped (75x4 and 300x1) there isnt anything better on ebay. Both brands are built just as good but one puts out more power in the sub section and almost twice the power to the highs. If it was me id stick with the kicker amp.

me personally i dont run them cuz i sit in the front so i dont worry about the back plus it creates a better sound with just fronts instead of front and back

All rear speakers can do is subtract from the sound quality. Take a look at an SQ competition vehicle and guess what you won't see.

I told him to buy the 5 channel because he said he wanted to power two sets of highs. You can still run just fronts if you want but you might find you want some rear fill. Buy a set of these cdt 6.5 components if you have room and see how you want to set it up. These cdt components are nice. My brother just bought a pair and they have very good midbass and a decent tweeter. They arent the softest tweeters but they sound pretty good. They are 99.99 shipped.
